You’ve heard of the dog whisperer, Caeser Milan? Well, there’s also a cat whisperer of sorts, believe it or not.
His name is Jackson Galaxy and he’s coming to Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville.
The “cat daddy”, as Jackson is called, is on a mission to help problem cats and their owners. Just like a dog trainer might do, he’ll evaluate your cat’s problem behavior and then identify ways that you can interact better with your four-legged friend to turn the behavior around. And the results are amazing.
His efforts even spawned a reality TV show called My Cat From Hell on the Animal Planet network. He’s also the author of the book My Cat From Hell: What the World’s Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, Love, and Coming Clean.
Jackson will be promoting that book when he comes to Naperville.
If you haven’t seen the show or heard of Jackson, he’s probably the last person you’d think of that would have a profession such as this if you saw him. As a large, tattoo-covered musician with funky glasses and facial hair, hip attire, and seen driving a car last built in the 1960’s, he’s probably not the image you have in your head of a cat lover.
But he is.
And watching just one episode of the show will help demonstrate how dedicated to his craft he is.
My favorite episode (yep, I think I’ve seen them all) is focused on a Sphynx cat named Matilda. Sphynxs are a completely hairless breed and I have 2 of them, so I was especially attracted to this episode (see episode clip below).
If you’re a cat lover, have a problem cat, or just want to meet a cool guy dedicated to helping animals, check out Jackson’s appearance when he comes.
