Halloween Happening; Naperville Park District Event For Kids

If you are looking for some child friendly, non-spooky Halloween fun for young children, Naperville Park District’s Halloween Happening is for you. This event is specifically meant for children ages 10 and under and their families.

Kids can come dressed up in their Halloween costumes for a fun-filled afternoon of games and activities. This is a great opportunity for parents and their young children to spend the afternoon outdoors enjoying the fabulous fall weather together.

Best of all, this is a free event!

The Halloween Happening is typically held each year on the Sunday before Halloween. It takes place in the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion area, along the river with a fabulous view of the fall foliage and scenery. This event is enjoyable for parents and children alike, and everyone is welcome to come in costume to really get into the spirit of things.

This event features “themed lands” to visit such as Halloween Way, Adventure Alley, King Arthur’s Court, and Fairytale Lane. The children will have opportunities to play various games within each of these “lands”, such as Frankenstein’s Ring Toss, Queen’s Crochet, and Troll Toss to name a few. Treats are given to the children after completing each game.

Halloween Happening is definitely something to look forward to each fall. My daughter used to love to attend this event when she was younger and we always had so much fun. It provides a chance for the kids to wear those Halloween costumes an extra time, to play games and win treats, and for parents to have the opportunity to socialize with other parents. It also provides a great opportunity and perfect fall backdrop for taking lots of pictures that you will come to treasure once your child has outgrown this event. I have many fond memories of Halloween Happening and am certain that many other parents in Naperville feel the same way.
