Oswald’s Pharmacy In Naperville – More Than Just Prescriptions

oswald's pharmacy in naperville

As you drive through the streets of Naperville, you may notice several popular pharmacy chains that are quite common in most Illinois cities. However, Naperville has something that most cities no longer have:  a local pharmacy that has been a part of this community since 1875.

Oswald’s Pharmacy was originally located in historic downtown Naperville and moved to its current location in 2004.

Pharmacy Features

Oswald’s is more than just a pharmacy.  It also has a great selection of toys, books, gifts, and also houses a United States Post Office inside.

The pharmacy accepts all major insurance plans and  offers a convenient home delivery service. The delivery service operates during the pharmacy operating hours, seven days a week. Oswald’s also offers their customers the convenience of renewing their prescription refills online.

Medical equipment products are also available at Oswald’s Pharmacy. They offer a wide selection of walkers and walker accessories, wheelchairs, upholstered lift chairs, bathroom safety supplies, and more. If you do not require these types of items on a permanent basis, medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches may be rented through Oswald’s. They also offer such items as supports, braces, and diabetic shoes and socks.

Oswald’s Pharmacy has an amazing toy section that kids will love! They carry such popular brands as Melissa and Doug, Lego building sets, Playmobil sets, Mattel toys, and Ty plush toys. They also have a great book and magazine selection, as well as a wide variety of greeting cards. Oswald’s is also a great place to find Naperville themed items such as tee shirts, postcards, and mugs. They also sell the popular Willow Brook figurines, beautiful scarves, and many other collectibles and items that make great gifts.

In my opinion, the thing that really sets Oswald’s apart from other pharmacies in the area is the in-store Post Office. You can fill prescriptions, shop, and mail off packages all in one stop. They offer such services such as First Class, Priority Mail, Express Mail, Parcel Post, Media Mail, and Domestic and Worldwide. You can also purchase stamps while you are there. The pick-up times for the Post Office are Monday through Friday at 1pm and 3pm, and Saturday at 12:30 pm. Please note these times are for the inside post office, and may or may not apply to the mailbox located outside of the store.

Lottery tickets of all types can be purchased at Oswald’s, and you can send and receive a Fax, or make copies for a dime per sheet on the copy machine. Behind the postal counter there is also a great selection of Mylar balloons for all occasions.

I personally love the convenient location of Oswald’s and really enjoy shopping there. I also take advantage of the Post Office to mail off bills and packages. My daughter always loved going there  when she was little so she could play with the train table set up for the little kids near the Post Office area.
When you’re looking for something a little different than the average chain pharmacy, Oswald’s fits the bill. It’s also a great way to support a local business that has been part of Naperville history for the past 138 years.
