EPCOT’S International Food and Wine Festival Review

Growing up, Walt Disney World was all about the attractions. How many times can we get on Peter Pan this trip? Aw Mom, do we HAVE to do the Hall of Presidents? Hey, the parade is coming through, let’s get on Space Mountain while no one is there! Hungry? Let’s grab a burger at Pecos Bill’s and get back in a line!

Once a trip we would visit the Papeete Bay Verandah at the Polynesian for Minnie’s Menehune Breakfast (sadly, the restaurant is now ‘Ohana and the Menehue Breakfast has said Aloha). Other than that, we were a family of five hitting the counter service restaurants as we went along between rides.

Now that I am an adult (and met my husband and his Disney values) I appreciate something different: shopping! Just kidding. I appreciate the dining options in Disney. There are so many places to dine in so many ways I could dedicate an entire site to it (but I won’t because there are already fantastic people doing that).

There is one special time of year I recently discovered is a great time to eat in Disney. Every fall as September fades into October, EPCOT takes its worldly perspective one step further. I present:

Walt Disney World is more than rides.  It’s also more than dining in fantastic restaurants.

Meeting Mickey Mouse or any of the characters can be an exciting experience…and it can be a traumatic one as well.  Without having any idea how your child will react to a giant Mickey Mouse or a beautiful princess they’ve only seen in movies, it can be challenging to know how to approach character meet ups in Walt Disney World.

So, I’d like to give you some helpful tips for enhancing your character connections.

For many people, images of the Magic Kingdom are the first things that pop up.  When you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, you will be spending at least one day of your trip here.

While this family-friendly theme park has MANY attractions, I’m going to give you a Top 5 list of attractions that should make every family’s “Must Do” list!
I’ll list the attractions in a geographical order, saving the only attraction with a height requirement for last.

How To Survive A Disney World Summer Vacation

Now that Naperville schools are out, many families are thinking about summer travel. One of the more popular vacation destinations is the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Summer in Florida is fierce. I am not going to lie. As one who made the yearly pilgrimage to the House of Mouse every July for at least a decade with my family, I know it seems impossible to visit the parks while you are dripping with sweat.

But fear not travelers for I bring you some coping mechanisms. I can’t promise you mid-70’s temps and no rain, but I can help you make your vacation magical in spite of soaring heat and 90% humidity.
